MLQ30 leadership tests

 

The MLQ30 online leadersip tests are based on a competency model that identifies key skills and behaviour that are required to be successful in management and leadership positions. The Management and Leadership Competency Framework (MLCF) measures 6 broad competency areas covering 30 competency dimensions.  The 6 broad competency areas in the framework covering transformational and transactional competencies are shown in the table below.

This competency model underpins three different questionnaires designed to meet the review criteria of the of the European Federation of Psychologists Associations (EFPA). The basic design features of the questionnaires are shown in the table below.

MLQ30n is a normative questionnaire with 30 scales that measure the 30 management and leadership competency dimensions in the competency model and 2 scales measuring impression management and self-deception.

MLQ30i is an ipsative version with 30 scales that measure the same management and leadership competency dimensions as the normative questionnaire and a scale that measures consistency of responding. It is designed to be more resistant to the effects of response distortion and 'faking good'.

MLQ30-360 is a 360 degree feedback version providing a more comprehensive picture of the participant's strengths and weaknesses based on the participant's self-assessment and assessments by bosses, peers, subordinates, and customers.
